Join the lab

My goal is to foster a lab environment where we work collaboratively to answer important questions, where each individual is able to chart their own path while contributing to the whole. Where we get to think big and do cool science and (usually) have fun doing it. The lab values and benefits from diverse perspectives. Having forged a somewhat meandering and non-traditional path to academia, I respect and appreciate the same in others.

We are fortunate to be a part of the amazing Centre for Bee Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation (BEEc) at York, which offers great opportunities to collaborate with other researchers studying bees and grow our professional network.

Prospective grad students

If you are interested in joining the lab, please get in touch! fitch DOT gordon AT gmail DOT com. Please include some background on your motivations for grad school and for joining the Fitch Lab in particular, particular research areas or questions you are most excited about, and your resume. You can learn more about the Biology grad program here. I look forward to hearing from you!

Prospective post-docs

I am always interested in discussing potential post-doc research projects, and am happy to collaborate on proposal-writing to fund the project.  If you are interested in joining the lab, please reach out with some information about your background and research interests: fitch DOT gordon AT gmail DOT com. I look forward to hearing from you!
